Terra Foster is the current National Director of Training for the NAACP where she co-manages daily operations of all programs and implements advocacy campaigns on priority issues. She identifies training needs for units throughout the region and designs and develops training content and learning plans for the units. She monitors unit advocacy work efforts and produces reports to demonstrate field team and unit effectiveness.
Her other duties include coordinating activities of the national program staff, legal department, and Washington Bureau staff working on specific actions such as lawsuits, voter registration, as well as working with the Youth & College Division on special projects.
Foster is the recent past Executive Director for the Alabama State Conference of the NAACP where she oversaw day-to-day operations including fundraising. She previously held roles of State Political Action Chair, Housing Chair and project manager for the Alabama NAACP GenZ initiative. Terra is also a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., where she served as the South-Central Region Social Action Coordinator and Public Relations Chair.
Foster received undergraduate degrees in Political Science and Human Resource Management from Troy University and Faulkner University. She also holds a Master of Science degree in Justice Administration from Faulkner University and she is a Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP).
Foster is an Alabama native and resides in Huntsville, AL. Terra enjoys spending time with her family and friends, strength training, running, reading, baking, and a good movie! She is also a proud Life Member of the NAACP.
