Mississippi, Tennessee and Alabama Top List for Worst Energy Policies in New NAACP Report
2013/12/17 – On Tuesday, Dec 17th, the NAACP held a phone press briefing to release a new report titled “Just Energy Policies: Reducing Pollution and Creating Jobs”, which examines the energy policies of all 50 states. The report is designed to serve as an advocacy tool to help spur states to make sure their energy policies protect communities from harmful energy production processes, while simultaneously providing equitable access to economic opportunities in energy efficiency and clean energy.
NAACP leaders analyzed the report and discussed the states with the worst energy policies. These states include Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee. NAACP leaders from these states will be on the call to discuss their efforts to improve their states’ policies.
