Dear Friends and Partners,

Our communities have been in turmoil over the last couple weeks as we witnessed the heinous murders of nine people inside of a church in Charleston, South Carolina.  Immediately following these deaths, a debate about the Confederate flag began, opening up an old, but constant wound in our communities.  It is time for healing, prayer and action.

We would like to invite you to an interfaith Prayer Vigil honoring the Charleston 9 and prayer for the removal of the Confederate symbols on our state flag, on, Wednesday, July 1st, in front of the Governor’s Mansion, 300 East Capitol Street, Jackson, Mississippi from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

We hope that you can join us, along with members of your family, group, congregation or organization.  We want to send a clear message to Governor Bryant that Mississippians are united in our quest for positive change, prosperity and reconciliation.

We hope that you can join us tomorrow evening.  For more information, visit our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/events/1635126320036026/ or call Frank Figgers at 601-960-9594 ext. 203.

Peace and Power,

Derrick Johnson
