State Convention

NAACP: Steadfast and Immovable

Convention History

Since 1945, the Mississippi State Conference NAACP (MS NAACP) has hosted an annual convention to convene members to conduct the official state conference business and to provide policy information and advocacy training on the present day issues affecting economic, political and social equality in Mississippi.

The MS NAACP annual state convention is regarded as an essential event for those engaged in civil rights advocacy and social justice in the state of Mississippi. During workshops, plenary sessions, and meal functions, convention attendees receive information from national subject area experts and engage in policy dialogues directly with statewide policy makers in the areas of civic engagement, criminal justice, economic empowerment, education and health. We expect hundreds of Mississippians to convene in Columbus, MS during November 9-11, 2017 to share models for civil rights advocacy and strengthening local communities.
