She was the inaugural principal of the Robert Lewis Magnet School, which earned a B accountability rating in its first year. Natchez-Adams School District moved from a F accountability rating in 2015 to a B accountability rating in 2023. Yet, for Ms. McDonald, her greatest professional accomplishments are those moments that allow her to celebrate the achievements and milestones of the students she has served over the years.
Beyond her professional achievements, Zandra is a devoted mother to her three children—Tyler, Ari, and Kendra—who inspire her passion for fostering academic excellence and student well-being in her work every day. She serves as the congregational pastor at Word of Faith AWC in Natchez, MS.
One of Ms. McDonald’s favorite quotes is by Marianne Williamson: “We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
