Marcus A. Williams is an attorney and partner at Williams & Bass, PLLC. His practice areas include general litigation, personal injury, criminal defense, and governmental entities. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History from the University of
Mississippi. Marcus earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Mississippi School of Law, where he was elected Student Body President.
Marcus has been honored by Super Lawyers Magazine as a Mid-South Rising Star every year since 2016 – a distinction given to a very small percentage of attorneys. He was awarded Top 40 under 40 by the National Black Lawyers. He was also honored by the Mississippi Business
Journal as a Leader in the Law for 2019 and listed in Portico Magazine’s issue of up-and-coming attorneys.
Marcus serves as the membership chair of the Magnolia Bar Association. Marcus was elected and served as a Director of the Young Lawyers Division of the Mississippi Bar. He is also a member of Jackson Young Lawyers, Mississippi Association for Justice, and Capital Area Bar
Association.
Marcus serves on the ACLU of Mississippi Board of Directors. He is also the Political Action Chair for the MS State Conference of NAACP. He served on the State Democratic Executive Committee and the Hinds County Democratic Executive Committee and was President of the
Young Democrats of Mississippi.
Marcus A. Williams is a native of Jackson, Mississippi, where he resides with his wife, Christin Williams, who is also an attorney. He is an active member of New Hope Baptist Church in Jackson.
