Meghan Curry is a native of Indianola, Mississippi and a 2021 graduate of the Mississippi School for Mathematics & Science. Meghan is a sophomore at the University of Mississippi, majoring in Public Health and Health Sciences with a minor in African American Studies. She is a Stamps Scholar, Columns Society Member, and President of the University of Mississippi Youth & College NAACP Branch. Meghan is also a Spring 2022 initiate of the Theta Psi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
Meghan is a strong advocate for racial equity and advancement to better serve and educate the Oxford-Lafayette community. She is passionate about healthcare accessibility, education and the wellbeing of black women. Over the past year, several news outlets have interviewed her about Critical Race Theory. In addition, she was recently featured on the British Broadcast Corporation (BBC) Series “Breaking Mississippi,” starring James Meredith which aired in the UK in November 2022 & in the U.S. in January 2023.
