Elijah Karriem, a proud native of Columbus, MS, is a senior at Jackson State University, where he is diligently working towards a degree in Journalism and Media Studies, specializing in Integrated Marketing Communications. His academic pursuits are paralleled by his commitment to leadership roles; he currently serves as the Chapter President of the NAACP Youth and College at Jackson State University and holds the esteemed position of Assistant Secretary for the Mississippi Youth and College.
Elijah’s professional journey has been enriched by a tapestry of experiences, including impactful internships with both the ACLU of Mississippi and the Mississippi Center for Justice. In addition, he participated in a professional development program with IMPACT Strategy, owned by the esteemed Angela Rye. These multifaceted experiences have greatly contributed to his well-rounded skill set and fervent dedication to creating a positive impact within his community.
