The NAACP is challenging registered voters in Mississippi and throughout the United States to use the Power of 5 on Election Day.

Connect with five registered voters. Ensure that your five friends get to the polls. And dedicate 5 minutes, 5 hours, or 5 days to ensure a turnout of record proportions.

The Mississippi State Conference NAACP’s 73rd Annual State Convention and Policy Institute will be held November 8-10, 2018, at the Hollywood Resort & Casino in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi.

The Mississippi NAACP’s 73rd Annual Freedom Fund Banquet is set for Saturday, November 10, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. at the Hollywood Resort & Casino in Bay St. Louis, MS. Tickets for the event are $50 for individuals and $500 for table reservations.

This year’s keynote speaker is renowned author and native of Moss Point, MS, Dr. Eddie Glaude Jr. Among Dr. Glaude’s many accolades, he serves as the William S. Tod Professor of Religion and African-American Studies at Princeton University and chair of the university’s Center for African-American Studies.

The Freedom Fund Banquet is a fundraiser for the Mississippi NAACP and aims to raise local awareness about enduring civil rights injustices. The banquet will also feature an award presentation, where community members and organizations will be recognized for their efforts to continue the work to achieve the mission of the NAACP.
