STATE PRESIDENT

 

 

Dr. Robert James serves as President of the Mississippi State Conference NAACP.  He also currently serves as the President of the Stone County Branch of the NAACP.  Previously, Dr. James served as the Mississippi NAACP Membership Committee Chairman.

Dr.  Robert James has been a committed member of the Mississippi NAACP.  In 2013, he reorganized the Stone County Branch of the NAACP.  For tireless efforts, he received the honor of being named “Volunteer of the Year” at the 69th Annual Mississippi State Conference NAACP Convention and Policy Institute in 2014.  Dr. James was also recognized for his work by the NAACP at its 106th National Convention as a second-place recipient of the Thalheimer Award in 2015.  The Thalheimer Award is the NAACP’s top award given to branches and units for outstanding achievements.

Dr. James completed his graduate studies in theology from Lift Bible Crusade College and Seminary where he finished both a Master’s and Doctor of Theology.  He completed his undergraduate studies at the Mississippi Baptist Seminary where he earned a Bachelor’s in Theology and a Bachelor’s in Religious Education.  Dr. James received his calling into the ministry in 1993 and was ordained in 1995.

Dr. James is has been married to Drucilla McCloud James for twenty-eight years and they have three daughters and nine grandchildren.

It is his desire to please God and serve humanity.
